Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs Sunrise apples
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

1 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soft butter
1 tsp cinnamon

Creme fraiche or ice cream

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Peel and chop the apples. Heat a skillet and melt the butter. Cook the apples until they are lightly golden and tender. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over them. Mix well. Make a bed of the apples in a 6-inch baking dish or pie plate.

Combine the flour, oats, sugars, butter, and cinnamon. With your hands, crumble the mixture into pea-sized pieces. Lightly sprinkle on top of the apples, and bake in the oven for 20 min, or until the topping is golden brown. Serve warm with creme fraiche or ice cream. Makes 4 servings.
