Apple Nut Crisp

Ingredients

½ cp old-fashioned rolled oats
½ cp flour
½ tsp cinnamon
½ cp brown sugar (packed)
¼ tsp salt
1 Tbsp lemon juice
¼ cp butter, cut in bits and softened
1 Tbsp white sugar
½ cp slivered almonds, lightly toasted
4 cps peeled, sliced apples

Instructions

In a bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Add the butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in almonds. In a large bowl toss apples in lemon juice and sugar. Transfer to a small, buttered casserole dish. Crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture and bake at 350F until crisp, 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and serve warm. Leftovers will remain crisp for another day!
