Chard corrects calcium deficiency, regulates digestive function, and acts as a diuretic. The chlorophyll-rich leaves will help keep your breath fresh.

Ingredients

1 bunch Swiss chard
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
4 Tbsp vegetable stock

Instructions

Separate leaves from stems of washed and dried chard. Blanch leaves in water, drain, and dry. Mix the cheese, breadcrumbs, and pepper (and/or herb seasonings) to taste. In a flat-bottom, ovenproof dish, layer 1/4 of the chard leaves and stems, 1/4 of the cheese, and 1 Tbsp stock. Repeat four layers in all. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes.
