sweet potato stew

A completely vegan stew still heary enough to satisfy a big appetite.


1 1/2 - 2 lbs sweet potatoes (or yams)
4 cups mixed chopped veggies
1/2 cup pasta sauce
1 cup vegetable soup broth
1-2 cloves garlic
1 cup textured vegetable protein, prepared according to directions

2 tbsp whole wheat flour


Combine all ingredients except flour in a crock pot or slow cooker and allow to cook until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle flour in to thicken sauce. Serve with fresh whole wheat bread.
