If you are fortunate enough to have children or grandchildren to hang around with this March break, you will need inspiring food ideas. It isn’t always easy to keep those little ones satisfied and have them eat food that is nutritious. If you’re tired of packing the kids the same three things for lunch every week you will enjoy these fresh snacks.

For extra fun and inspiration you can plan theme-food days with your children. You can celebrate St Patrick’s Day, a little late, and eat only green foods. Celebrate the coming of spring (Wednesday) with a picnic lunch or dinner. Children love restaurant days where they can order off a menu – of course, you’d only list healthy foods. Or maybe they can be responsible for all the cooking one day. Warning: this still takes a lot of work on the adult’s part!

Unfortunately March Break is anything but a break from cooking but it doesn’t have to be a week of fast food restaurants and junk food. Of course, you don’t have to have children to make food fun. The child in each of us might like a picnic in the park too!
