Nuts are a great way to add a special “crunch” to your meals. With so many shapes, sizes, and flavours, the combinations are endless! Not only do nuts add flavour and style, they also provide us with many health benefits.

Nuts are loaded with protein, unsaturated fat, fiber, and nutrients including folic acid, niacin, magnesium, selenium, omega-3 fatty acid, and zinc. Nuts are believed to reduce the risk of diabetes, some form of cancer, and heart disease. Almonds, peanuts, and pistachios contain that same amount of protein as meat. However, nuts can be very high in fat, so watch your proportions! A general rule is that one daily serving of nuts is equal to the amount that you can hold in one hand.
