What are "watermelon radishes", you ask? "Watermelon radish" is the western name for a unique radish of Asian origin. Its Chinese name (Shin-Ri-Mei) means "Beauty in the Heart", to reflect the beautiful red flesh of this radish. Flesh is crispy with mild and sweet flavour, excellent for salads, garnish, and cooking (wonderful in miso soup!). Note: the green "shoulder" part should be trimmed off.
