Fresh herbs are a wonderful way to enhance the flavours of food without adding any extra calories or fat. With the wide variety of herbs available to us, the possibilities are endless.

Fresh herbs can be added to soups, salads, bread, stir frys, casseroles, and most other types of dishes. If you are cooking with herbs, try adding them during the later stages of cooking (when possible). This will help to maintain their flavour in the dish. Although nothing beats the taste of fresh herbs, we do not always have them on hand. If you are substituting dried herbs for fresh, remember to decrease the amount in the recipe by half!
