It’s raspberry time! Raspberries are my all-time favourite berry (although strawberries are very close behind). My favourite recipe is simple: take a bowl of raspberries, wash ‘em and eat ‘em! But, I’ve decided to be a little more creative this year, so I found a few recipes that I thought would be a nice treat during these warm summer months. Raspberries are so versatile that they can be used in breakfast, lunches, dinner, drinks, and, especially, desserts. Below, I’ve included a variety of recipes that shows the many faces of raspberries.

(See the following recipes in our Recipe Archives: "Raspberry Slush" in the Beverages section, "Strawberries with Raspberry Sauce" in the Dessert section, "Raspberry Salad Dressing" in the Salads & Dressings section, and "Lowfat Raspberry Mousse" in the Dessert section.

Raspberry tidbits:

Raspberries are part of the Rose family. There are over 250 different species found throughout North America. Raspberries are high in Vitamin C, potassium, riboflavin, niacin, and also contain iron and calcium. They are also a good source of antioxidants and phytochemicals. Raspberries are also known as a love-inducing fruit! The trick to raspberries is not to store them too long and only wash them just before eating.
