So pretty and tasty!
Simple comfort food: boil together potatoes and turnip. Add finely chopped green cabbage or green kale when almost done, allow to sit (covered) for 10 min, until greens are very soft. Drain water (reserve a little in the pot for mashing), and add 2 cloves crushed garlic. Stir in butter and milk (or cream cheese or sour cream, or your non-dairy favourite), and mash! Add freshly ground black pepper and sea salt to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley if you have some, or grated cheese or whatever you fancy! Awesome under or over a stew...or alongside a hearty salad...or all by itself! Enjoy this savoury, rich, earthy autumn comfort food!
