What a surprise awaits those of you who have yet to try a watermelon radish! They get their name from their size (huge, compared to the average radish) and colour (pale green on the outside with a vivid fuschia-pink flesh!).
Such an impressive veggie for a winter veggie platter, especially when sliced thinly into half-moon slices, so your guests can admire the contrast of the green rind and the pink inside! They are milder than a regular radish, and have a crisp, almost juicy texture (though they dry out quickly, so should be cut up just before serving if possible). Enjoy!!
